We are excited to announce that Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) has selected BlueConduit’s innovative Lead Service Line Predictions solution to validate the absence of lead in their system and reduce the number of unknown service lines in advance of the October LCRR compliance deadline. The inspections lists and BlueConduit Experience will be delivered through MAWSS’s Esri platform.
MAWSS serves approximately 200,000 people and has about 92,000 service lines. The utility has diligently been identifying their service line materials through physical verification and existing data. Having found no lead service lines in their system so far, the utility will be using BlueConduit’s statistical analysis methodology and technology to efficiently and cost effectively determine the remaining unknown service line materials in their inventory. BlueConduit will also be assisting the utility with historical records validation and data enrichment as part of the rigorous process for predictive modeling.
BlueConduit’s predictive modeling and statistical analysis technology helps water systems accurately predict the likelihood of lead service lines, galvanized lines, or prove the absence of lead in their systems. As the LCRR compliance deadline approaches, water systems are especially focused on completing their inventories and determining how many service lines of unknown material they have and how those lines will be managed.
Mobile was referred to BlueConduit through its partner engineering firm, HDR, and was able to quickly move through the procurement process with BlueConduit’s Sourcewell partnership. Sourcewell is a cooperative procurement agency helping governments and municipalities shorten the RFP process. This allowed them to move forward in a matter of weeks, rather than months.
We’re looking forward to assisting Mobile with inventorying and understanding their unknowns as they finalize their inventory submissions ahead of October 16.
