Kristy is BlueConduit’s Vice President of Sales and Commercial Strategy. Here’s a quick Q&A with Kristy.
Why did you join BlueConduit?
When approached with the opportunity to join BlueConduit, I was immediately excited to learn about the impactful work that was being done to get the lead out in communities across the country. Access to clean, safe drinking water is a basic human right and a critical need to protect the future well-being of our children and families. I am proud to be a part of a company with such strong values and commitment to social responsibility and equitable change.
What professional experience and expertise do you bring to BlueConduit?
I bring over 15 years of combined sales and account management experience in the public sector, IT and infrastructure asset management space. My areas of expertise include cultivating strategic relationships, solution selling, and implementing a focused go-to-market strategy with a cohesive knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape in the public sector market; with experience in market and business development, government contracts, and channel partner engagement.
What does a day in the life of BlueConduit’s VP of Sales look like?
My day consists of strategizing sales and business development efforts to align with BlueConduit’s business goals and initiatives, Go-To-Market planning and execution; including client meetings, demos and conference attendance, spreading awareness about BlueConduit’s offering and the value our solution brings to the market, channel partner engagement and planning, and coordinating with federal and state regulators. I also work very closely with our Customer Success and Project Delivery teams, serving as a Project Advisor to ensure the successful delivery of our products and services to our valued clients.
What work accomplishments are you most proud of and what goals have you prioritized for this year?
When joining BlueConduit in August of 2022, the water industry was new territory for me. To be an effective sales person, you really need to be able to understand a client’s needs and the challenges they face so that you can help solve for them. As such, I’ve spent the last year and a half really diving into and learning more about the water industry, the presence and impact of lead in our infrastructure and regulatory policy and compliance. I’ve also made a concerted effort to gain a deep understanding of data science and machine learning, which has been very exciting to explore! I can now confidently say I’m well on my way to being somewhat of an expert in these areas.
On a personal note, becoming a full-time working Mom is probably the hardest, most fulfilling role I’ve ever had. While there is no magic answer for figuring it all out, I’m most proud of how I’ve managed to juggle the balance (with the support of my amazing husband and family). To all of the other working and stay-at-home parents out there….keep your head up, you’re doing great!
As for this year, I am excited to be leading the sales and business development efforts here at BlueConduit. My top priorities are focused on building and executing our sales strategy, including: assisting local governments and water utilities with LCRR and LCRI regulatory compliance, establishing and managing strategic partnerships, and growing our overall client base and annual revenue, all while making a significant environmental impact.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I reside in a suburb of Buffalo, NY with my husband Rich and our daughter Madeline. We are also expecting our second child this summer, which will certainly keep us very busy! We currently spend most of our off-work time playing with Maddie, but when she goes to bed, we like to relax by opening a bottle of wine and watching some tv. On the weekends, we spend as much time as possible with our families and closest friends. In my free time, I also enjoy golfing, traveling, cooking (and eating delicious food), shopping and spending time outdoors. Being born and raised in Buffalo – I am of course a big football fan….. Go Bills!
