Meet The Team: Kristy McGrath

Kristy is BlueConduit’s Director of Municipal Sales. Here’s a quick Q&A with Kristy.

Why did you join BlueConduit?

When approached with the opportunity to join BlueConduit, I was immediately excited to learn about the impactful work that was being done to get the lead out in communities across the country. Access to clean, safe drinking water is a basic human right and a critical need to protect the future well-being of our children and families. I am proud to be a part of a company with such strong values and commitment to social responsibility and equitable change.

What professional experience and expertise do you bring to BlueConduit?

I bring over 15 years of combined sales and account management experience in the public sector, IT and infrastructure asset management space. My areas of expertise include cultivating strategic relationships, solution selling, and implementing a focused go-to-market strategy with a cohesive knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape in the public sector market; with experience in market and business development, government contracts, and channel partner engagement.

What does a day in the life of BlueConduit’s Director of Municipal Sales look like?

My day consists of strategizing sales efforts to align with BlueConduit’s business goals and initiatives, Municipal Go-To-Market planning and execution; including client meetings, demos and conference attendance, spreading awareness about BlueConduit’s offering and the value our solution brings to the market, channel partner engagement and planning, and finally conducting ongoing research and learning about LCRR, LSLR, EPA guidance and available funding resources.

What work accomplishments are you most proud of and what goals have you prioritized for this year?

While I’m too early in my time at BlueConduit to list professional successes here, this last year did bring me into the hardest, most fulfilling role I’ve ever had and that was becoming a mom. While on maternity leave, I learned how challenging it was to be a stay-at-home-mom. After returning to work, I learned how challenging it was to be a full-time working mom. While there is no magic answer for figuring it all out, I’m most proud of how I’ve managed to juggle the balance (with the support of my amazing husband and family). To all of the other working and stay-at-home parents out there….keep your head up, you’re doing great!

As for this year, I am excited to be leading the municipal sales efforts here at BlueConduit. Top priorities are focused on building and executing a municipal sales strategy, including: assisting local governments with LCRR and LSLR regulatory compliance, leveraging available funding sources, establishing partnerships for government contract vehicles, and growing our overall client base and annual revenue, all while making a significant environmental impact.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

I reside in a suburb of Buffalo, NY with my husband Rich and our 14-month old daughter Madeline. We currently spend most of our time chasing Maddie around, but when she goes to bed, we like to relax by opening a bottle of wine and watching some tv. On the weekends, we spend as much time as possible with our families and closest friends. In my free time, I also enjoy golfing, cooking (and eating delicious food), shopping and spending time outdoors. Being born and raised in Buffalo – I am of course a big football fan….. Go Bills!
