Chris is BlueConduit’s Business Development Manager. Get to know Chris through this quick Q&A:
Why did you join BlueConduit?
I joined BlueConduit at a turning point in my career. After an unexpected layoff, I was searching for more than just my next role—I wanted leadership I could trust and a mission worth investing in. Through a network referral who previously worked with BlueConduit, I was introduced to the team and the company’s vision.
From the first conversation, something clicked. Every interview showcased leaders from different backgrounds who all shared the same purpose: using data and technology to improve communities. With my experience in the water industry, it felt like the right place to rebuild momentum and create meaningful impact.
If there’s a theme across my career, it’s this: I want to do work that matters, with people who care, in a way that leaves things better than we found them. At BlueConduit, that belief isn’t just welcomed—it’s expected. That’s exactly why I’m here.
What professional experience and expertise do you bring to BlueConduit?
I bring a blend of operational discipline, competitive drive, and a commitment to thoughtful, purpose-driven selling. I’ve always been a “hunter”—someone energized by building relationships, opening doors, and solving problems alongside partners.
But over time, that evolved. Influenced by Simon Sinek’s “Start With Why,” I became more intentional about how I approach outreach and relationship-building. Today, I lean heavily on honest storytelling, clarity of purpose, and helping communities solve real challenges—not just pushing a product.
That philosophy guides how I approach business development at BlueConduit: lead with intention, communicate with heart, and keep the focus on delivering real value to real people.
What does a day in the life of BlueConduit’s Business Development Manager look like?
A day in the life at BlueConduit is very fluid!. Our teams are small, tight, and highly collaborative as everyone plays a role in shaping strategy. We move quickly as regulations shift, policies evolve, and utilities face new challenges. But most importantly, we work with empathy, knowing we are all moving forward together for a common goal.
What work accomplishments are you most proud of and what goals have you prioritized for this year?
Some of the accomplishments I’m most proud of include:
- Building new outbound strategies from scratch
- Strengthening our go-to-market structure
- Helping shape how we communicate the value of predictive modeling—not as a buzzword, but as a practical solution for utilities balancing budgets, compliance, and public trust
This year, my biggest goals are to:
- Continue growing our business development engine
- Expand our reach into new regions
- Champion an education-first approach to selling across the water industry
How do you spend your time outside of work?
Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me outdoors, with my family, or somewhere in the world of sports. Whether I’m coaching, playing, or cheering from the sidelines, sports have always grounded me in teamwork, discipline, and accountability—values I carry into my work every day.
Family comes first, and they’re the foundation that keeps me balanced and motivated.
