Meet The Team: Tyler Harmon

Tyler is BlueConduit’s Delivery Project Manager. Get to know Tyler through this quick Q&A:

1. Why did you join BlueConduit?

I joined BlueConduit because I love being a part of the effort to help communities modernize their water infrastructure and combat the public health crisis caused by lead water pipes. Knowing that at the end of my work days, my work contributes to a positive net gain to society is very important to me.

2. What professional experience and expertise do you bring to BlueConduit?

I am joining BlueConduit with nearly 10 years of experience working at the intersections of technology with healthcare, public health, and housing justice. Specifically, I bring expertise in project management, large-scale technical implementations, and process improvement strategies.

3. What does a day in the life of a project manager look like?

I am in constant communication with the data science, engineering and customer delivery teams throughout my day. As a Delivery Project Manager, I start my mornings by leading a check-in call with the Data Science and Engineering teams asking for updates across all projects, and I spend the rest of my day continuing to follow up and asking for more updates. I also utilize several software tools to track progress across all projects and keep the team on track to deliver our deliverables on time. There’s a lot to do, but I love it!

4. What work accomplishments are you most proud of and what goals have you prioritized for this year?

For more than six years, I worked with and within the homelessness response system. Early in my career when I lived in Washington, D.C., and worked for a local nonprofit organization, I assisted over 80 veterans experiencing homelessness to move back into housing and stabilize themselves. This is something I’m very proud of, and I consider it my greatest work achievement so far.

For this year, I have a goal to obtain my Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. This will be a big professional milestone for me. I’ll learn different project management methodologies, be able to manage projects more efficiently, and increase project success rates.

5. How do you spend your time outside of work?

During the times that I am able to get away from my laptop, I spend as much time as possible hanging out with my corgi, Shorty. I also have a pet turtle named Donatello. I live in Denver, Colorado, and try to make it out of the city when I can to explore the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I also love all live music events and go to concerts at Red Rocks at least five or six times a year. It’s probably my favorite venue!
